Every managed care company has a values page. Most of them read the same. Most of them sit on a shelf.
Atlas took a different route. The five words we hold ourselves to also spell our name, so we cannot post them and forget them. They are built into how we sign off, how we introduce ourselves, and how we grade our own work.
A · Accountability
Owning the file, the call, and the outcome. No file gets orphaned. No decision is anonymous.
T · Trust
Doing the work you were hired to do, whether or not the client is watching. Trust is a compounding asset.
L · Leadership
Setting the standard for the industry, not chasing it. Leading the Way is a working stance, not a slogan.
A · Advocacy
Standing for the injured worker without abandoning the payer's interests. The two are not in conflict when the file is handled right.
S · Stewardship
Treating every dollar, every file, and every hour as if it belonged to someone who trusted us with it. Because it does. Careful with the claim, careful with the client, careful with the worker.
Values are only worth what they cost you when they are inconvenient.
That is why they are on our name badge, not just our values page.
Five chapters. One company. One direction.
Chapter Three is the values. Read all five chapters end to end on one page and see how the story fits together.
