Atlas Managed Care's MPN connects injured workers to the right physicians, faster, and integrates with every other service line we deliver.
Each Atlas MPN employer program has a dedicated provider directory hosted by our network partner, listing every contracted physician available to treat work-related injuries under that employer's program. To reach the correct directory for your employer, or to get help finding, scheduling, and confirming a provider, contact the Atlas Medical Access Assistant team.
A Medical Provider Network, or MPN, is a group of physicians and specialists approved by the California Division of Workers' Compensation to treat injuries that happen on the job. If your employer uses an MPN, you'll choose your treating physician from the providers in that network.
California Senate Bill 899 allows employers to direct medical care for work-related injuries through an MPN. Every MPN is approved by the DWC Administrative Director and must follow strict standards for the quality of care, the geographic reach of the network, and access to specialists.
California law gives every injured worker treated under an MPN specific rights to choose their physician, request additional opinions, and obtain an independent review when there is a disagreement about care. These rights are described in full in the Complete Written MPN Employee Notification, provided at the time of injury by your employer or claims administrator.
To request a copy or to ask any question about your care under the Atlas MPN, contact the Atlas Medical Access Assistant at (888) 866-9466 or MPN-MAA@AtlasManagedCare.com.
The strength of a Medical Provider Network is measured in four ways. Atlas leads on all four.
Every physician in an Atlas MPN has agreed in writing to treat injured workers under the program, has been verified against California licensure and disciplinary databases, and is actively accepting workers' compensation patients. We do not pad the network with names that no longer practice. Our roster reflects who is actually available to see your employees.
We update our provider listings on a continuous basis and at minimum every quarter, with the date of the last update displayed on every directory. If a provider becomes deceased, retires, or stops accepting workers' compensation patients, they come off the directory within forty-five days of notice. Every listing carries a phone number and email for reporting inaccuracies, and we treat those reports as a priority.
Atlas MPN providers cover the geographic areas where your workforce lives and works, with at least three primary treating physicians within fifteen miles or thirty minutes of every covered employee, and specialists within thirty miles or sixty minutes. We measure access against California's regulatory standards and verify it through geocoded analysis before any employer goes live.
Atlas MPN is the front door to a fully integrated managed care program. Utilization review, nurse case management, medical bill review, and our claims liaison work all draw from the same record, the same provider relationships, and the same accountability standard. Your employees see one program. You see one report. Outcomes improve when the parts work together.
The Atlas Medical Access Assistant team helps injured workers find an available MPN physician of their choice, schedule and confirm appointments, and access medical treatment under their employer's MPN. We answer in English and Spanish.
Atlas Managed Care builds Medical Provider Networks for employers, insurers, self-insured groups, and third-party administrators who want measurable control over workers' compensation medical costs without compromising the quality of care. Every Atlas MPN is custom-built around the client's geographic footprint, industry risk profile, and existing carrier relationships, and is submitted to the DWC Administrative Director for approval before any employee is enrolled.
We build each MPN around your workforce. Geographic coverage, specialty mix, and existing carrier relationships included.
Atlas manages the DWC application, the reapproval cycle, the quarterly provider updates, and the audit-ready disclosure surface.
Your MPN sits inside the same Atlas managed care program as utilization review, nurse case management, and medical bill review. One team. One report.
California regulation requires employers to provide every covered employee with a Complete Written Employee Notification describing the MPN. The notification is also available in Spanish for Spanish-speaking employees. Employers and payors can download the templates below.
Client-specific notifications, with each employer's MPN identification number and effective date, are available on the employer's individual MPN page.
Accuracy is a core promise of an Atlas MPN. If you find an inaccuracy in any Atlas MPN provider directory, such as a wrong address, wrong phone number, a provider no longer practicing, or no longer accepting workers' compensation patients, please let us know. Reports are reviewed and resolved within forty-five days of notice, and most are resolved much sooner.
If you have concerns, complaints, or questions about an Atlas MPN, the notification process, or your medical treatment after a work-related injury, you can contact the California Division of Workers' Compensation Information & Assistance Unit at 1-800-736-7401 or visit www.dwc.ca.gov.
Directory accuracyAtlas MPN provider directories include information for participating providers. As with any directory, changes occur. At the time each directory was compiled, all listed providers were accepting workers' compensation patients. We make every effort to maintain each directory with accuracy and up-to-date information. Changes may occur after information has been entered. Please confirm all information with the selected provider before scheduling.
Independent contractorsParticipating providers and facilities are independent contractors and are solely responsible for any liabilities, professional or otherwise, arising from his, her, or its acts or omissions.
