The National Safety Council marked five years of its MSD Solutions Lab in June. Nearly 300 organizations have joined the MSD Pledge, representing more than 3 million employees. Nearly 75% of participating employers improved workplace safety scores over the last three years.
Ergonomic injuries still cost U.S. private-sector businesses more than $19 billion a year. Sprains, strains, and repetitive motion account for the majority of lost-time claims. Programs that work share a pattern: structured measurement, worker involvement in solution design, and follow-through on the data collected.
